Safety Tips for Ocean City Senior Citizens
Last January 13, a free medical program was held in Ocean City. During the event, experts from the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Center shared some tips on how elderly people can avoid falls and accidents.
According to AtlantiCare’s trauma program manager Kimberly Schunk, aging, fading eyesight and the use of prescription medications all make senior citizens vulnerable to falling and other accidents. That being said, it is important for elderly people to take extra care when they are in the bathtub or shower. Grab bars must be installed and skid-resistant mats must also be placed in the shower.
