How to Keep Your Senior Citizen Loved One Safe at Home
Securing senior citizen safety, even inside the house, is no piece of cake. As every elderly individual has specific needs, depending on his physical and medical condition, it can be difficult to find a straightforward solution to the issue.
However, here are a couple of risk-mitigating measures with which caregivers can start:
- Keep all their activities on the first level of the house to eliminate the risks of using the stairs
- If moving them downstairs is not possible, install railings on both sides of the staircase
- Install grab bars, use non-slip rugs, and keep pathways free of clutter to get rid of tripping hazards
