Healthy Eating and Hydration Techniques for Seniors

One of the most prevalent problems among senior citizens during summer time is dehydration. And because such issue needs to addressed, Diane Alpern with the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts provided tips on how to stay hydrated and eat healthy to a group of 12 seniors at the Greenfield Senior Center.

During the presentation, Alpern recommended seniors to drink at least 8 glass of fluid each day. She also recommended that seniors always carry a water bottle and avoid buying drinks in stores which can contain unnecessary sugar. When buying food, seniors should also make sure that they refrigerate their food promptly.
