Habitat for Humanity Helping Veterans in Need of Home Repairs

Times can be hard on senior citizens, particularly since they no longer work to receive a steady income. As a result, whatever money they receive or have left, from pensions or savings, is allocated to pay for basic necessities and healthcare costs. an old woman's home being repaired by some peopleThey then have to set aside other expenses like home improvement and repair.

The South Palm Beach chapter of Habitat for Humanity understand the need for seniors to still give importance to home maintenance. That’s why they have decided to give seniors a helping hand, particularly to veterans who need some home fixing-up. After getting the word out, they have received many calls from veterans who wish for assistance.

“We are happy to report that we have had over 50 calls and emails from veterans and their families seeking our assistance. These vets include World War II vets, all the way down to young vets,” said Patricia Rowan, development director of the group. “We have verified that about 35 live in our service area of Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach.”
