Today, we successfully installed an accessibility solution for our client’s home. We set up a sturdy modular ramp off the back deck, complete with two platforms for ease of access. Additionally, we added two suitcase ramps to enhance mobility within the home. One suitcase ramp was placed at the back door to eliminate the threshold, ensuring smooth wheelchair passage in and out of the house. The second suitcase ramp was positioned indoors so the client would not have to navigate a step, granting them unrestricted movement throughout their living space. These thoughtful installations now empower our client to navigate their home freely and independently with their wheelchair.

How to Create an Accessible Home in New Jersey

At Back Home Safely, we offer free home assessments for safety and accessibility. To begin, one of our experienced occupational therapists will visit the client’s home to evaluate needed modifications. They suggest various modifications such as ramps, stairlifts, grab bars, etc. Following the assessment, the client will receive an estimate and can decide if they want to proceed. Should they wish to move forward, they simply give us a call, and we promptly schedule our technicians to come out and complete the work!

Today our technicians completed a job in Westfield, New Jersey. They created wooden stair rails on the deck providing the client with something to hold onto when using the stairs. Additionally, they added a step off the deck which created a lower rise.
