Driving Tips Taught at Senior Safety Day
During the Senior Safety Day, the topics discussed were about the dangers of driving under prescribed medications and the importance of being updated on traffic laws. The course gave seniors some helpful tips on how to drive safely on the road.
The Union Volunteer Emergency Squad helped in explaining the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke and when it’s the best time to call for some help.
“We have people who are talking about how to be safe in your home by preventing falls, which I believe are one of the highest causes of injury among elderly people”, said Christine Muss, the Traffic Coordinator at the Broome Country Health Department.
