Smart House for Independent Senior Citiziens
Researchers from the University of Florida has developed what they call a “smart house” which promotes independent living among senior citizens.
The said innovation features over-sized doorways that are suitable for senior in wheelchairs, flush sensors, pull-down shelves in cabinets,
fast-cooling stove, special knobs that monitor and lock water temperature, grab bars and a walk-in threshold, smart microwave that reads food labels, and many other high-technology solutions to problems brought about by aging and chronic diseases.
