Homes Built for Seniors
As people age, it’s inevitable that homes that used to be their safe havens become hazardous and places where accidents are prone. The presence of stairs, multiple levels, bathrooms prone to slipping, and areas that are difficult to maneuver around make homes dangerous for older adults. So when the time comes, it’s important for families and the seniors themselves to make changes that will better accomodate their needs, safety and health.
With these priorities in mind, Jason Eid, president of Eid-Co Homes and a nationally certified aging-in-place specialist, created senior-friendly homes. Several of these homes are built around the Fargo-Moorhead area. They start at about 1,000 square feet and can go as large as 1,800 square feet and are completely functional for seniors considering their independence and physical and mental needs.
According to Inforum, “Eid-Co’s patio homes are built without stairs or thresholds, which can be risky for seniors, and feature 3-foot-wide doorways, showers with built-in benches and more, making them completely wheelchair-accessible.”
