Post natural disaster in Cyclone Evan, Samoa, 2012.

During severe weather conditions, making sure that your aging loved ones are taken care of is very important. Unfortunately, knowing how to take action when the sirens starts to make noise may be a bit difficult for some senior citizens. To help ensure that your elderly loved ones are safe during extreme weather conditions, here is a safety checklist that you can use.

–          Be aware of the natural disasters that will strike your area.

–          Make a list of things that your senior can or can’t do in the event of a natural disaster.

–          Older adults should go sooner during evacuation.

–          Make sure you have at least a one-month supply of medication on hand.
