Cyprus Salon Offers Free Services for Senior Citizens

A salon in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, is proving to be quite popular because of free the services that it is offering to the senior citizens of the city.

The salon is located at the Nicosia Multifunctional Centre, and is not only increasing its popularity but has also gained what should be considered an official seal of approval when the mayor of the city, Constantinos Yiorkadjis, paid it a visit.

Senior citizens can now avail of blow dries and hair cuts that are free of charge from the salon. It is all a part of the programme by the municipality to provide care, entertainment, and support to the senior members of its community.

Christina Karamani, an operator of the programme who also happens to be the founder of the salon states that, “Working with the elderly on a daily basis I marveled at how many would come in all prim and proper but then gradually their appearances began to suffer slightly.”
